Plainville is a small town that has maintained its rural charm and remains a special place for all who have lived here. Residents enjoy an extraordinary quality of life in this quaint Southeastern Massachusetts town surrounded by nature conservation areas, a nearby horse farm, lakes and ponds – all in a location offering an easy commute to Boston, Providence and other major cities.
Superb highway access is offered by I-495 and US Rte 1 at the periphery of town. Commuter rail access is available in nearby Franklin and Mansfield. Newly expanded T.F.Green Airport is conveniently located in nearby Warwick RI.
Public school system
The Town has supported the major rebuilding of Anna Ware Jackson Elementary, a pre-K to Grade 3 school, as well as a new Beatrice Wood School, a Grade 4 to 6 school. Students matriculate to the King Philip Regional System, a newly rebuilt middle school, and a high school that recently completed a total renovation. A private Montessori School, Hillcrest Academy, and several private pre-schools are also within the community.
Community athletics and Town golf courses.
The Community is a great supporter of youth athletics via the Plainville Athletic League, Plainville Youth Soccer League, and Town recreation leagues and is currently in the process of building a Field of Dreams complex . There is a public swimming pool as well as a private pool club, as well as two Town golf courses, Heather Hill and Wentworth Hills.
Local Shopping
Shopping is nearby with the Wrentham Village Premium Outlets at the edge of town on Rte 1A, and the new Target/Super Stop & Shop anchored Plainville Commons at the intersection of I-495 and Rte 1 right here in Plainville. The new Patriot Place Shopping Center is also close by.
